I was definitely drawn to the packaging more than anything else when purchasing this blush that is called Sweethearts. So sweet! Too Faced has always had cute packaging..this blush came in three pretty colors, and I was (kind of) in need for a new blush. I have used a lot of Too Faced products (including their B.B. Cream), but I have never used any of their blushes. Since I was pretty disappointed with Too Faced‘s bronzer, I wasn’t expecting much from this blush (although it is a “color-baked” formula, making it a lot different than the bronzer I had tried). I was really surprised at how much I liked it. This is why I decided to write a detailed review about Too Faced sweetheart blush.

This Too Faced’s blush delivers pretty intense color (not TOO intense — perfect for a natural flush) that lasts throughout the day and blends seamlessly. I wore it this morning without any other makeup on my face and it gave off this beautiful, natural flush. I don’t know what it is — the trio of colors, the color-baked formula? I am seriously happy I bought this blush because I was not expecting so much and I was really surprised by the results.

Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush by Too Faced is described as “a trio-color blush of rose, coral, and peach all packed into one pretty heart.” The heart is really pretty! The three colors may be used alone, or mixed together in order to give some more color depth. When I tried to use the colors individually, I found that they really didn’t show up well on my face; it looked more like a semi-luminous sheen. When swirled together, however, I was actually pretty surprised that the color came out with so much depth — it wasn’t TOO dark, it was just enough color for my light-medium skin tone.

Too Faced said they created this blush “in order to take the guesswork out of creating a sweet and romantic flush.” They call it the little black dress of blushes since you get three perfect blush tones: rose (pink), coral and peach. Each color is described as follows: Pink is “Rose/Pink Shimmer“; Coral is “Soft Coral Peach“ and Peach is “Peachy Pink Shimmer“.  See these colors on the skin:

This Too Faced blush is a color-baked formula, which allows the blush to be applied for a “beautiful, buildable finish.” I find that I notice color-baked formulas a lot more than regular formulas when it comes to bronzers and blushes. Whenever a blush/bronzer says it is “color-baked”, the depth of the color is usually deeper, and you can keep applying until you get just the right amount.

The product description also says that the color-baked formula technology allows this blush to “truly work on all skin tones” but I’m not so sure about that. I honestly don’t think the colors of this blush would show up enough on darker skin tones — and that’s also what some reviewers of the product said (Sephora.com, TooFaced.com). Either way, I absolutely love it for my light/medium skin tone. It blends wonderfully and looks great with my bronzer and highlighter. I definitely notice a pretty peachy/pink/coral color, and on days when I want to go makeup-less, I can use one of the individual colors for a subtler flush. This is definitely one of my favorite new products.

As always, Too Faced beauty products are 100% cruelty-free.

xoxo,
Estelle
