Ninon de L’Enclos, one the most beautiful and popular women of her time, lived in the time of Louis XIV and went down in history as the woman that was 90 years old but looked so young, that young men were falling at her feet, including important personalities such as cardinal Richelieu, Larosfouko, Voltaire, Molière and others, despite the fact that she was known for her rebellious spirit.

The secret of her beauty was discovered after her death, by the woman who was on her service for over 50 years, through a brochure with beauty recipes, which she made on behalf of Ninon.

The cream, a great which allowed her to keep her skin youthful is described as follows:

Original Recipe                                                                       Modern Modification

4 ounces of almond              —————————->     113,4 grams of almond

3 ounces lard                         —————————->     85 grams of olive oil

1 ounces spermaceti             —————————->     28,35 grams of beeswax

Onion juice                            —————————->      Onion juice

Rose water                           —————————–>      Rose water

Of these, spermaceti (wax type, produced from the sperm whale) cannot be found nowadays, but beeswax is considered to be a good substitute. The lard can also be replaced with olive oil, while the rest of the ingredients are readily available. Knowing that one ounce equals 28.35 grams, it is easy to calculate the dosage.

The cream is ideal to be used on face and neck daily, to stay overnight and be removed in the morning, but you have to be careful because due to the composition of the cream it leaves stains.
