If you aren’t the best when it comes to makeup we’re here to help you out. Figuring out the best strategies to put on makeup and building makeup skills can be quite a process, but you can cut through a lot of that time because we are about to give you a step by step guide that tells you how to layer your beauty products and achieve having a flawless face!
Layer 1: Start with clean skin
Before you begin doing anything you need to begin with cleansing your skin. You never want to apply products on less than clean skin. This will make your products go onto your skin better and have a better chance of seeping into your pores, which makes them more effective. It will also stop product build-up on your skin. If you just kept piling products on without ever taking the time to cleanse your skin your pores would probably be erupting with blackheads and whiteheads, something that you want to avoid at all costs. Use your daily cleanser as well any toners that you use on your skin.
Layer 2: Apply your serum
Once your skin is clean you can go in with any serums that you want to apply. They provide great benefits for the skin when used over time. Serums are targeted products that are made to penetrate deep into the layers of the skin, which is why you want to apply them immediately after you cleanse in order to reap the full benefits of the product. Serums can address a number of skin concerns. You can use a serum to brighten your skin, reverse signs of aging, moisturize and even help to stop acne. You just have to be sure that you have chosen a product that has ingredients that are backed up by science because serums tend to be expensive products.
Layer 3: Moisturize
This step is a very important one. You should apply your moisturizer every day, even if you are putting on makeup. Some people skip putting on moisturizer because they don’t want the oils to break down their makeup or cause oil to breakthrough their foundation. However, not all moisturizers are greasy and applying a moisturizer can provide complacency for you sebaceous glands (oil producing glands in your pores) and actually alert your skin to stop producing oil because you’ve put enough of it back into your skin. This is also a great way to work your sun protection into your daily routine.
from Solvaderm Skincare has the best of both worlds. It provides non-greasy moisture and soothing botanicals to the skin and it also protects the skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It is made without the use of parabens and fragrances which makes it great for sensitive skin, and it works very well under makeup.
Layer 4: Apply your primer
If you don’t use a primer then you should be using one. Many people think it is an unnecessary step until they try it. Primer makes your makeup last longer, perfects the surface of your skin, and can help to control oil throughout the day. One thing that you should look out for are the ingredients that are inside your primer. Many of them are made with ingredients that can be harsh and irritating in order to produce the skin perfecting results. Go for a primer that has non-irritating ingredients, does not clog the skin pores, and is specially created for people who have easily skin prone to irritation. If you choose the right primer it can make your makeup last much, much longer and retain its finish throughout the day.
Layer 5: Put on your makeup
We’ve reached the last step of our beauty routine for perfect skin. When choosing the kind of foundation that you will use judge the type of product that you purchase on the type of coverage and finish that you want. If you don’t want a lot of coverage use a very light coverage mineral powder foundation, a tinted moisturizer, or a BB cream. These products will give you a light natural finish and will even out your skin tone. If you are using a powder foundation you can apply it to your skin with a brush and if you are using a tinted moisturizer you can apply it using your fingers or a sponge, just apply it to the back of your hand first to avoid using too much product on your face.
If you want a little more coverage go for a liquid foundation just make sure that it is non-clogging. Apply your product with a clean makeup brush, applying it to the back of your hand before you apply it to your face just like we previously discussed.
All what is left to do now is to enjoy your flawless face!
