3D Eyebrow Embroidery, What it is?
3D Eyebrow Embroidery is a very popular cosmetic treatment and an emerging beauty recipe that creates natural looking, stylish and full eyebrows. It has the same philosophy as eyebrow tattoo with some big differences.
What is 3D Eyebrow Embroidery?
It is a semi-permanent natural procedure that is a great alternative to eyebrow tattoos, and personally I find it a better solution if you want to have this type of treatment for your eyebrows. With this method you can have a natural looking eyebrow having a full and well-shaped look without anyone noticing that you had a “special” treatment for your eyebrows. Sounds lovely doesn’t it? Sometimes you will see the eyebrow embroidery named as Microblading or Microstocking.
What happens during the procedure?
First of all, your eyebrow line should be prepared. The technician will clean your eyebrow and remove any stray hair. Also it is important to give the eyebrow the shape of the desired result. -Yes the desired results, don’t forget to choose beforehand what shape and style you want for your eyebrows.
After cleaning and shaping the eyebrow a local anesthetic cream is applied on the treated area in order to reduce any pain or discomfort.
When the anesthetic starts acting the technician uses an embroidery tool to fill the empty spots on your eyebrows drawing small ink lines along the eyebrow line. The ink that is being used for that purpose is distilled water based and widely known as “Henna”.
After the treatment you will experience some minor swelling and redness that will disappear from after a few hours to a couple of days after the treatment. Also, for the first week try to avoid to have any contact with water or sweating because the dye may be washed off.

In the following video you can see exactly how this procedure works.
How long does it last?
Generally the 3D eyebrow embroidery method will last up to 2 years. This is why we say that it is a semi-permanent method.
After a few weeks you will notice some discoloration and you will need a touch up session about a month after the initial embroidery. The touch up session is very important in order to have a better result. The technician will fill any color that did not adhere properly and you could also have the option to slightly change the shape of your brow if you think you are not satisfied.
Can anyone do it?
Usually it is meant for women who have light hair and pale skin. It is a procedure that can be done on anyone but if you have thin eyebrows, bald spots or you have over-plucked your eyebrows (you know that eventually they don’t grow back don’t you?) then this maybe the best solution for you.
Is it safe?
Like every other cosmetic procedure it is safe as long as you are careful about who you choose for the treatment. Make sure that the technician is certified and experienced in this field. If you find a company offering this treatment in very cheap rates you should be suspicious. Have in mind that the normal prices of this procedure are from $300 to $600 .
How should I prepare?
Well, first of all you have to decide about what shape and what color you want to give to your eyebrows. Have a color in your mind and pre-select a color with the technician having in mind that in first days the color is darker and it will lighten up after a week.
Secondly, it is better to have some days off your daily activities in case you have redness for a couple of days and not just a couple of hours. I don’t think you will feel very comfortable with people asking you “what happened to your eyebrows?”; the same when you go for the touch up session.
Eyebrow Embroidery VS Eyebrow Tattoo
A big problem regarding eyebrow tattoos is that they look unnatural when they are finished because they add color to the entire eyebrow area. Someone could easily notice an eyebrow tattoo, even if he is not very experienced. Also, eyebrow tattoos are very painful to get.
One major difference between the 3D eyebrow embroidery and the tattoo is that tattoos are permanent and the embroidery is semi-permanent – lasts up to 2 years. So if you think that you don’t like your eyebrows anymore you know that you will not need to have a laser tattoo removal, a costly and painful procedure in order to remove your eyebrows.
If you are a woman with light eyebrow hair and pale skin this method will suit you 100%. You will not have to fill your eyebrows again for 2 years. Experiment and learn what kind of eyebrow image suits you more and then you are ready to have it on you for 2 years.
Sounds great, but you know, I always say: “Do it only if you need it”. If you feel that your eyebrows are great the way they are and you are satisfied with them, don’t touch them. If something looks good then it’s good! If your eyebrows do not look good or have other problems, then solutions like the beauty recipe of 3D Eyebrow Embroidery are necessary because eyebrows are one of main characteristics of the face that add uniqueness, style and distinction. Everyone wants to have bold and impressive eyebrows and with this technique it is easily achievable.
